A palace in the heart of Paris
Built by architect Charles Girault, who later became the architect to Leopold II, King of the Belgians, the Petit Palais covers more than 5,000m2. It is characterized by its monumental arched porch, which precedes a low steel dome. This essential architectural element was adopted and copied for decades in countries all over the world. Twenty years were needed to complete the painted and sculpted decorations of the domes, galleries and vestibules of this sumptuous building. Distributed around a superb interior garden, for over a century its collections have brought together an exceptional collection of ancient works, paintings, sculptures, furniture and objets d’art dating from Antiquity to 1914.
Completely refurbished between 2001 and 2005, the Petit Palais has retained its 1900s spirit while modernizing. The museum now boasts a fully-equipped 182-seat auditorium, perfect for conferences in the heart of Paris. Also available for private hire, the Gardens of the Palace restaurant is organized around the interior garden and its three magnificent ponds. A unique haven of greenery just a stone’s throw from the Champs-Élysées, this venue offers a warm, contemporary setting for corporate cocktails. In fine weather, it opens onto a terrace, sheltered under the peristyle painted by Paul Baudouin. Finally, the gallery and south pavilion cover over 770m², with large bay windows overlooking the Seine and the peristyle, offering a majestic setting for your receptions, from cocktail parties for up to 600 guests to sit-down dinners for up to 300. The Petit Palais, an exceptional Parisian venue, can accommodate both large-scale receptions and more intimate events, thanks to its various private spaces.
