The most famous of wax museums
Inaugurated on June 5, 1882, the Musée Grévin is a private wax museum featuring numerous wax reproductions of famous figures from history.
At the time of its creation, photography was not the norm in the press, so Arthur Meyer, then Director of the daily Le Gaulois, turned to Alfred Grévin, sculptor, caricaturist and theatrical costume designer.
From then on, Alfred Grévin began creating sculptures of personalities in the news to illustrate his articles.
Today, this Parisian museum boasts over 200 wax figures, including Michael Jackson, Alfred Hitchcock and Albert Einstein.
The Musée Grévin has a performance hall, the Théâtre Grévin, in the heart of the museum. In 1964, writer André Malraux registered the theater on the supplementary inventory of historic monuments.
An unusual setting for your receptions
Surprise your guests by holding your professional events in the world of this original cultural venue. Trait’Tendance offers you the opportunity to privatize the reception areas of this atypical Parisian museum.
The Salle de la Coupole and Salle des Colonnes were renovated and inaugurated in December 2014, and now lend their majestic, baroque setting to corporate events. Open daily for rental, these two rooms can accommodate from 150 people for dinner to 300 people for aperitifs, cocktail lunches or dinners.
During your reception, you’ll be offered a private tour, with the chance to meet and mingle for an evening with waxwork reproductions of the most memorable celebrities of recent decades. Finally, for your dance parties, the Musée Grévin opens the doors of its historic attraction: the Palais des Mirages. This giant kaleidoscope, invented by engineer Eugène Hénard, features a unique interplay of lights and mirrors.
