The Musée Maillol opened its doors in 1995, inaugurated by François Mitterand. Following the donation of Maillol’s sculptures to the French State in 1964, Dina Vierny decided to create her own Foundation to publicize all of Aristide Maillol’s work. Decorated on its façade by Edme Bouchardon’s famous “Fountain of Four Seasons”, the building housing the Foundation was built in the 18th century on land belonging to the Récollets convent. Over the years it has had many occupants, famous and anonymous: Alfred de Musset lived here between 1824 and 1840, the painter Baudry had his studio here…
The building was also home to the Cabaret de la Fontaine des Quatre Saisons, made famous in the early 50s by Pierre and Jacques Prévert. Today, Trait’ Tendance offers you the possibility of privatizing the museum to organize a cocktail party, a dinner, a study day, a press conference or any other event. All privatizations can be accompanied by a private tour of the museum.
